Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind NSP is available for free on Romslab for Nintendo Switch (NSP Edition). This self-aware character is ready to join some of the most iconic and enduring monsters in Power Rangers history. Your progression is broken down into stages and even phases, with a monster typically taking three stages to complete a story arc. It’s a magical concept that cleverly evokes nostalgia for the classic comedy-drama TV series. At one stage, you even get a subtle nod to the latest fighting game.

Most of the stages are simple battles where the chosen ranger battles various robots (and sometimes “Tengas”) with special attacks. For example, a bright blue robot with spikes will attack you, but if you dodge it, the robot will crash into a wall and lose its head in seconds. None of the enemies are especially fast, but they are designed to pick at you a lot. Your moves are limited to a few basic attacks, jumping, and running, but they’re usually enough to keep you out of the way of most enemies. If you lose, you can activate a powerful attack by collecting enough power coins to completely destroy almost all enemies on stage.

• There is no difference between the NSP and XCI formats. They run exactly the same on the emulator.
